-
1
Get 8 square sticky notes. Fold the two sticky corners on one towards the center.
-
2
Fold the bottom edge to the tip of the point you just created.
-
3
Fold in half vertically so that it looks like a square made of two triangles.
-
4
Pull the shared upper left corner of the triangles apart from itself until you get a rhombus shape and crease.
-
5
Repeat the previous steps seven times with different sticky notes.
-
6
There should be a tip that you can pull apart on each. Take another sticky note and put the tip that doesn't pull apart into the slot. Rest the edge against the point where the tips fold apart and line the tip up with the top edge of the other one. If you've done this right, the tip of the first rhombus should stick out from the second, but don't get frustrated if it doesn't. It's a matter of how you have them rotated. Flip one of them over top-to-bottom and go again.
-
7
Fold the the tabs (actually two protruding tips) into the gap between the sides on the second rhombus.
-
8
Holding the whole thing so that the tip points to the outside, continue adding links to it in the same fashion until you have a full circle. The last one can be a bit tricky.
-
9
This circle is collapsible. By pushing the sides together, it transforms into the complete shuriken, and by pulling apart again it goes back.

Question
How do I make the diamond in the first three steps?
Keith Zheng
Community Answer
You basically just pull on the corners (try the other corners if it doesn't work).
-
Question
Does it have to be with sticky notes?
No, you can cut some paper to the correct size and use glue to imitate the sticky part.
-
Question
Can you provide additional information on the third step?
When you have the bottom part towards the top, fold it so it looks like two triangles instead of folding it the other way and getting no triangles.
-
Question
Could you clarify number 7?
Step 7 is where you grab a sticky note and just slide it inside the left side of a another sticky note.
-
Question
What would the length be if I use paper?
You can use any size of paper, but ideally the size of a standard post-it note, which is 1.5 square inches. You don't need the sticky part necessarily, as long as you score the creases.
-
Question
How do I do step 6?
On the pointy side, you put it between that part in the back (where the floppy corners are you put it between).
-
Question
Can you explain step #4 in more detail?
Basically, you just pull the protruding triangle out until it makes a rhombus sort of shape and crease it.
-
Question
Can you help me further with step 4?
Basically ,just pull the triangle part forward (to the part it is facing,) then you bend the middle part so it lines up to the side.
-
Question
Do the sticky notes have to be sticky?
No they do not. And if you don't have any, you can cut paper up to imitate sticky notes to the right size.

If the paper gets stuck, don't try to force it. Just tweak it until it works.
